Something not working? Write to us.
Messages are read and answered by the people who build the app, usually within two business days.
Reporting a problem
A bug is much easier to fix when we can reproduce it. If you can, include:
- the device and system version — for example, iPhone 15, iOS 18.4;
- the app version, shown at the bottom of the profile screen;
- what you did, what you expected, and what happened instead;
- a screenshot or a short screen recording, if the problem is visible.
If the app closed unexpectedly, tell us roughly when — crash reports you have agreed to share with Apple help us find it.
Common questions
Do I need an account to use Dots?
No. Dots works fully on your device without signing in. An account exists only so your data can be synchronised between your own devices, and so you can share selected things with friends you have added yourself.
How do I get a refund?
Purchases are sold and processed by Apple, and refunds are requested from Apple directly at reportaproblem.apple.com. We cannot issue App Store refunds ourselves — but if something went wrong, write to us anyway and we will help you sort it out.
I paid, but the paid features are not active
Make sure you are signed in to the same Apple Account that made the purchase, then use the restore option in the app's profile screen. If that does not help, send us the App Store receipt and we will look into it.
How do I delete my account and its data?
Send the request from the email address associated with the account and we will delete the account together with the data stored for it. Data that lives only on your device is removed when you delete the app.
Why does the app ask for Health access?
Only to read your step count, which drives the walking journey. Access is requested when you open that feature, it can be refused, and the rest of the app works exactly the same without it. Dots never writes anything to Apple Health.
Is my data sent anywhere?
By default your data stays on the device. Features you switch on yourself — synchronisation, sharing with friends, the voice assistant — necessarily involve sending the relevant data off the device to work. What is sent, and where, is described in the Privacy Policy.
Which languages does the app support?
English, Russian, French, German, Spanish, Japanese, Korean and Vietnamese. The app follows your system language automatically.
Can I suggest a feature?
Yes, and we read every suggestion. We say no to most of them — the app stays useful by staying small — but the ones that fit do get built.
